Korie Pelka

Coach | Writer | 3rd Act Explorer

Welcome to my website – I’m glad you stopped by! Let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my practice.

My Journey

After 25 years in the corporate world as a communications professional, I volunteered to be laid off and promptly bought a one-way ticket to Barcelona. Upon returning, I became a certified coach and have spent the years since building my coaching practice, enhancing my writing skills, and exploring my third act stage of life. To follow my journey, feel free to subscribe to my newsletter or browse through my blogs.

My Coaching Practice

With two degrees in theater directing and decades of executive communication experience, I have a unique perspective on navigating careers in the corporate world. Having successfully transitioned out of the corporate world, I am passionate about helping others do the same, whether your exit plan is now or years down the road.

On the personal side, I was a single mother raising two boys for many years and understand the complexities of balancing work and home life. I’m also a cancer survivor who has navigated through many uncertain times and can help with developing resiliency in your life.

Finally, I believe in the power of asking “What if?” and know that you are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. You hold the answers within. My role is to help you discover them and support you in your journey.

For private sessions, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I am also a Premiere Fellow coach through BetterUp Coaching. Check them out!

Transitions
October 2024

Our lives are filled with transitions—great and trivial journeys from endings to new beginnings. In this latest anthology by the Redwood Writers Club, you will find my short story, Who Will Arrive? along with stories to inspire you and to make you reflect on what it means to be human.

Available here.

Musings
April 2025

This month, I start a blog series around all the lessons I’ve learned on how to plan your exit from the Corporate World. I also share a link to a group dedicated to knitting while socialzing in pubs, and a humourous collection of corporate blunders and verbal flubs. Enjoy!

For past editions, please have a look here.

Book Reading

I’ve been part of a year-long program to help me write my self-help/memoir. While still a work in progress, I was able to read a short excerpt last month along with my fellow writers in the program. If you missed it, the replay can be seen here.

Note: I’m the first reader.
